Research Technologist

Our client, an environmental sciences and technological research organization, is seeking a Researcher I to join their team. As a Researcher I, you will be part of the Environmental Research Department supporting scientific investigation and technological development. The ideal candidate will have curiosity, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Research Technologist
Location: Baytown, TX
Pay Range: $40-$46/hr
Duration: 12 months (potential to extend)

What's the Job?

• Conduct basic theoretical and experimental scientific investigations to acquire new knowledge
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy innovative technologies
• Support research in areas such as oil spill response, environmental genomics, remote sensing, and air emissions monitoring
• Ensure successful project completion and provide timely updates to research leadership
• Perform laboratory work, field sampling, and analytical chemistry techniques

What's Needed?

• BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Marine Science, Molecular Ecology, Bioinformatics, Toxicology, or a related field
• 1-3 years of hands-on laboratory experience (internship or independent research acceptable)
• Experience handling pyrophorics and working in glove box or air-free environments
• Strong numerical analysis skills and excellent communication skills
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced lab setting
