Exciting Opportunity for Critical Care Float Pool RN in Las Vegas, NV!

Schedule: Full-time - NIGHTS shift with rotating weekends / 3-12hr Shifts

Position Summary:
As a Critical Care Float Pool RN, you will manage the nursing care of critically ill patients, ensuring their safety and comfort. Your responsibilities will include:

* Assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care needs.
* Carrying out physician orders efficiently and accurately.
* Administering prescribed medications and performing wound care.
* Monitoring vital signs and providing respiratory and ventilator management.
* Coordinating care across multiple disciplines for optimal patient outcomes.
* Documenting patient conditions using computerized systems.
* Educating patients and families on care processes.
* Collaborating with the healthcare team on discharge planning.
* Delivering culturally competent care tailored to diverse age groups.
* Mentoring and orienting new staff members.
* Practicing Standard Precautions and utilizing personal protective equipment as needed.

License/ Certification/Registration Requirements:
* Current Nevada Registered Nurse license (pending license accepted if well advanced in the process).
* Current Certifications: BCLS/ACLS upon hire; NIHSS within 90 days; CCRN preferred.
* Passing score on Critical Care Test/Rhythm interpretation examination.

Education:
* BSN preferred, ASN accepted if enrolled in a BSN program.

Experience:
* Minimum of 2 years of current acute care hospital critical care experience.

Qualifications/Skills:
* Knowledge and skills for the patient population served.
* Excellent customer service and effective listening abilities.
* Clear and concise communication skills suitable for various developmental stages.
* Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
* Physical capability to handle frequent movements and lifting (up to 50 pounds).

Special Notes:
* Float Pool will rotate among various ICU areas: Trauma (20 beds), CVICU (10 beds), Burn Unit (10 beds), CMU (41 beds), Neuro Surgical ICU (16 beds), MICU (34 beds), CVTU (22 beds).
* Nurse to Patient Ratios: ICU 2:1, CMU 3:1.
* Teamwork is core to our culture; support and collaboration among team members are emphasized.
* The supportive Director values open communication and is available to assist whenever needed.
* Ideal candidates will demonstrate commitment to improving patient outcomes and possess well-rounded critical care experience.
* This is a Union Facility; please note that new grads are not accepted.
* Experience as an ER nurse with critical care experience is beneficial.
* Candidates should thrive in high-stress situations.
