Acute Med/Surg Registered Nurse - Full Time Contract

Assignment Duration

This is a 22 to 24-week full-time contract position.

Schedule

Full time, 3x12s - day/night shift variable, including weekends and holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families in an acute medical/surgical setting. The RN assesses patient needs, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care, and delivers direct patient care while evaluating patient progress throughout their hospitalization.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs through active listening and observation.
• Develop individualized, culturally relevant plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary based on patient response.
• Advocate for patient rights and promote safety and health.
• Conduct patient and family education regarding self-care and health management post-discharge.
• Engage in self-evaluation and professional development to improve nursing practices.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and apply findings to enhance care delivery.
• Maintain infection prevention practices and competencies specific to the patient population.
• Foster teamwork by promoting cooperation among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State RN Licensure required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical environment as a Registered Nurse.
