Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year

eJam is a bootstrapped consumer products company that has built, scaled, and exited multiple brands — all without ever taking a dollar of outside capital. Our portfolio includes category leaders ranked at the top of Amazon, carried in major retailers nationwide, and sold across DTC, marketplaces, and every channel in between.

We’re not a startup hoping something works. We’ve taken products from zero to eight figures, landed them on retail shelves nationwide, and built brands consumers love. We operate like a holding company with the speed of a startup: small team, no bureaucracy, massive ownership.

You’ll see the entire machine — purchasing, product development, packaging, manufacturing, compliance, marketing, marketplace strategy, retail — under one roof.

The Buyer keeps our products in stock. You’ll own purchase orders from reorder to receipt, working daily — in English and Spanish — with manufacturers and component suppliers across North and South America. You’ll negotiate price and terms, chase shipments, and fix problems before they become stockouts. This is an on-site, individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Supply Chain.

• Placing orders: Review inventory and demand-planning data, then create and submit accurate purchase orders — specs, quantities, pricing, and ship dates right the first time.
• Working the phones: Call and message suppliers daily in English and Spanish to confirm POs, production schedules, and ship dates.
• Tracking shipments: Follow every open PO to delivery, flag delays early, and line up the fix.
• Negotiating: Push for better pricing, payment terms, MOQs, and lead times on repeat buys.
• Solving problems: Work with Quality Control to resolve defects, short shipments, and invoice or order discrepancies.
• Keeping records clean: Maintain accurate purchase, pricing, and vendor records in our systems.
• Coordinating: Align buys with Demand Planning, Product Development, and Supply Chain around launches and seasonal peaks.

• Help research and qualify backup or new suppliers when a vendor falls short or a new product needs one.
• Gather quotes and samples to support Product Development.

• 98% on-time delivery from suppliers.
• No stockouts on key products caused by late or missed POs.
• Purchase orders issued accurately, with discrepancies resolved within a week.
• Measurable cost savings through negotiation on repeat buys.

Requirements

• Fluent in English and Spanish, written and spoken — you'll negotiate and resolve issues by phone in both languages.
• Able to work on-site in Santa Ana, CA, Monday through Friday.
• 3+ years in purchasing, buying, or procurement, placing and managing POs directly with suppliers.
• Hands-on experience negotiating price and terms with vendors.
• Comfortable in an ERP or inventory system and strong in Excel or Google Sheets (lookups, pivot tables).
• Organized and detail-oriented: you track many open orders at once and nothing slips.
• Direct and proactive — you call the supplier instead of waiting for an email.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in CPG, consumer goods, or eCommerce.
• Sourcing finished goods, ingredients, packaging, or components.
• Experience with suppliers in Mexico or Latin America.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
