The successful candidate will be a senior actuarial leader with a strong background in variable annuity valuation, financial reporting, and reserve analysis. This role is pivotal in overseeing valuation activities that support various reporting standards, including US GAAP, Statutory, and Tax. The AVP will provide critical insights into earnings emergence, reserve movements, and the impact of assumptions, and will be responsible for leading a valuation team, ensuring compliance with audits and regulatory requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance valuation processes and controls. Key responsibilities for the AVP include leading a team in the valuation of variable annuity products, managing the valuation process to ensure accuracy and compliance, and providing leadership in complex actuarial initiatives. The ideal candidate will have an FSA designation with over 10 years of experience in life and annuity actuarial work, possess strong technical expertise in annuity products and valuation methodologies, and have a proven track record of leadership and management. Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work with audit and regulatory bodies.
