Claims Director, Professional Liability

Claims Director, Professional Liability Primary Purpose of the Role : To manage the technical and operational functions within assigned Professional Liability offices, ensuring compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and quality service delivery. Provides direct operational responsibility for a company office, manages staffing and training, leads staff development, and oversees budget planning and profit‑and‑loss management. Essential Responsibilities : Oversee overall Professional Liability operations management for assigned locations. Establish policy and procedures to assure compliance with best practices, claims management service standards, state regulations, and client service requirements. Develop business plans with goals and objectives for the area and offices. Monitor management reports related to area/office performance. Assist with coordination of sales and client service efforts. Perform other duties as assigned. Support the organization’s quality program(s). Travel as required. Administer company personnel policies in all areas, following staffing standards and training recommendations. Interview, hire, and develop colleague performance plans; conduct performance discussions. Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum performance. Qualifications : Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; CPCU, ARM, AIM, and/or AIC certifications preferred. Licenses: Licenses as required. Experience: 10 years of related experience, including 7 years in Professional Liability and 4 years in supervisory roles. Skills: Strong technical claims knowledge; excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills; PC‑literate with Microsoft Office; leadership, management, and motivational skills; analytical and interpretive skills; strong organizational skills; excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to work in a team environment; ability to meet or exceed performance expectations. Work Environment : Consideration will be given to reasonable accommodation. Travel may be required.
