Description

American Traveler is seeking a Rehab RN for an inpatient post-acute rehab unit requiring at least one year of experience and a compact RN license in hand at submission.

Details

• Inpatient acute rehabilitation unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Day shift schedule working three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float between units based on facility needs and skill set
• Uses Epic for charting
• No fee for parking

Requirements

• Active compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with acute inpatient rehab, orthopedics, neurological, and GI patient populations preferred
• Experience with assistive devices, mobilization techniques, and prosthesis application preferred
• Experience with CVA, neuromuscular disease, post craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients preferred
• Skills in fall risk assessment, wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, and patient teaching preferred
• Experience with feeding tube care, PEG tube management, and swallowing precautions preferred
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a post-acute inpatient rehab setting for both rehab and med-surg patient populations
• May be required to float to sister facilities within the region based on staffing needs
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• RTO requests should be submitted upfront prior to start; post-offer time off requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rates
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required prior to start
