Your caseload may include students with articulation and phonological disorders, language delays and disorders, fluency and voice disorders, pragmatic language challenges, and communication needs associated with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, and other health impairments. There may be opportunities to work with students using AAC systems, support social communication groups, and contribute to language and literacy initiatives, depending on building assignments and district priorities. A typical day may involve a combination of pull-out and push-in services, scheduled assessment blocks, time for documentation and progress monitoring, and collaboration with staff and families. The district strives to maintain manageable caseloads and reasonable student-to-therapist ratios, though specific numbers can vary by building, grade levels served, and time of year.
