Workforce Development Program Coordination Volunteer

Location: Chicago, IL

Reports to: Program Director

Position Type: Volunteer, Part-time

Time Commitment: This volunteer position requires an estimated 5–7 hours per week , with flexibility depending on program needs and timelines. The coordinator must be available to attend and lead youth sessions approximately twice a week during the school year . Additional hours may be needed for preparation, communication, coordination, and occasional training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and support program sessions, including scheduling, preparation, and on-site facilitation.
• Collaborate with MR staff, educators, and guest speakers to plan a schedule of engaging, age-appropriate, hands-on activities related to manufacturing, STEM, and career exploration.
• Support and communicate with volunteers, mentors, or guest speakers to ensure they are prepared for sessions.
• Prepare and organize materials for each session, including activity supplies, handouts, and snacks (when applicable).
• Attend and supervise youth program sessions (typically twice per week), ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Serve as a liaison between schools or community partners and MR program staff, sharing updates, successes, and challenges in a timely manner.
• Assist with basic documentation, feedback collection, and continuous improvement of programming.
