Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive assessments of patients presenting to the emergency department.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with protocols.
Conduct EKGs and interpret results, ensuring timely monitoring of patient conditions.
Provide triage services as needed, prioritizing patient care based on acuity.
Float within skillset as required across various areas of the department.
Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
Support a team-oriented environment with effective communication.

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
Previous experience in a facility with at least 45,600 emergency visits per year.
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS.
Experience with Cerner EMR is required; triage experience is preferred.
Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80%, including a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to work every other weekend and every other holiday. Available shifts include day (4x12 hours) and night (4x12 hours) schedules.

Additional Requirements

Proof of flu vaccination is required.
Must be flexible and willing to float within skill set as needed.
Travel experience is preferred.
