Operator - Production II

Operator - Production II (Open) Location: Sacramento, CA (Plant) - Acetylene production & filling Pay: $22.00/hr Shift: 2:00pm - 10:00pm Responsibilities Inspect cylinders prior to filling, following established procedures required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards. Perform various safety checks such as odor tests and checking caps and valves. Review products for purity and correct mixtures to ensure excellence. Maintain high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders and prepare high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling. Attach to manifold and ensure highest quality by preparing vessel for fill. Fill cylinders by pressure and weight per regulations and standards. Collaborate on loading and unloading of cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers. Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment. Maintain accurate records to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards. Complete quality control sheets as required. Accurately label cylinders. Operate safely in harmony with government and company standards for handling hazardous materials. Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance. Required Qualifications Ability to complete training and achieve certifications for filling all cryogenic liquids and pure industrial gases. Ability to complete FDA, Food Grade, and CGMP Training and achieve certifications. Preferred Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in related manufacturing operation, filling or loading experience preferred. Strong background in gas, welding, and safety supply industry or chemical industry preferred. Must be able to operate forklift and maintain appropriate forklift certifications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets. Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines. Strong level of attention to detail. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
