The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises.Job Summary:Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.Responsibilities:Assist with interviewing, hiring and training Medical Assistant staffBe available to cover shifts when staff call inObtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical examExplain prescribed procedures and treatments to patientsEnsure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely mannerAdminister prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedureDraw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processingPerform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructionsResponsible for lab compliances; must be organized!Coordinate oversight of laboratory with Medical Director as neededPerform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulationsEnsure patient immunizations are well documented, administered in accordance with approved procedure, and stored appropriatelyConduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basisPrepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for proceduresCorrective action conversations with back office employeesMaintain complete and accurate documentationOther duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications:Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
