Respiratory Therapist

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Florence, SC where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The role requires performing direct patient care and respiratory procedures throughout the facility, responding to Code Blue and Rapid Response alerts, documenting care and assessments, and collaborating with the care team. Candidates may perform specialized procedures such as pulmonary function testing, methacholine challenges, hyperbaric medicine, NICU/PICU care, and asthma education when specially trained.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state license in good standing with the State License Board.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
• One year experience as an RRT.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required.
• Experience managing ventilated patients and performing intrahospital transports.
• Experience with equipment including Servo-i ventilators, V60 BiPAP, and point-of-care i-STAT ABG analysis.
• Ability to work in units paired with step-down and floor assignments and manage multiple floors when assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialized training or experience in pulmonary function testing, methacholine challenge testing, hyperbaric medicine, NICU or PICU respiratory care, and asthma education.

Assignment Details

• Shift Hours: 1900–0730.
• No call. Every other weekend.
• Typical patient load includes responsibility for up to eight ventilated patients in a unit.
• Floor assignments may cover three to four floors.
• Average of 2–3 intrahospital transports (CT, MRI, specials) per shift.
• Work assignments in units are paired with step-down and/or floor assignment.
