Full-Time Speech Language Pathologist

Friendship is looking for a Full-Time Speech Language Pathologist to join our Friendship Health & Rehab North team, located in Roanoke, VA. The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for preventing, assessing, diagnosing and treating speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in residents.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Complete screenings and patient evaluations according to departmental policies and procedures
• Establish, implement and execute goal-oriented treatment plans and programs in coordination with other departments
• Evaluate treatment plan progressions to identify any deficiencies and make adjustments as may be necessary
• Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder or progressive neurological disorders
• Work with people who don't have speech, language, or swallowing disorders, but want to learn to communicate more effectively

Qualifications:

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
• Experience in a long-term care/rehabilitation facility preferred
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds
