Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week travel assignment in Portland, OR. This is a night shift opportunity with a block schedule that includes weekends. The ideal candidate will have experience in sterile processing, instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and robotics. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Prepare and organize instrument trays and case carts for surgical procedures.
• Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and high-level disinfection equipment.
• Monitor sterilization processes using biological and chemical indicators.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization records and equipment processing.
• Process specialty instrumentation, including orthopedic, laparoscopic, vascular, ENT, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, and robotic surgical instruments.
• Handle flexible endoscope reprocessing, including cystoscopes, ureteroscopes, and fiber optics.
• Follow infection prevention standards and hospital policies to ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to maintain efficient operating room workflow.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience.
• CBSPD or HSPA (IAHCSMM) certification required.
• Experience with Epic charting preferred.
• Robotics processing experience strongly preferred.
• Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Experience with acute care hospital operating rooms.

• Knowledge of Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) preferred.
