Equipment Technician - Fleet Temporary hire

This position will have inconsistent work hours and will be called in as needed on short notice and/or only work 3-6 hours a day. Core Daily Responsibilities: Perform progressive preventative maintenance on gas and diesel powered vehicles, trailers, and associated equipment. Perform full range of maintenance and repair functions on gas and diesel powered vehicles, trailers, and associated equipment. May repair light duty transmissions, rear end assemblies, electrical units, brake systems, fuel and other mechanical systems. Work may include tune-ups, relining and adjusting brakes; engine, transmission, and differential replacement and repair, and electrical component replacement and repair. Repair gas and diesel engines, transmission, fuel, electrical and hydraulic systems and components. Perform equipment technician duties in the central shop area. Certification as Master Technician from Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), OR Full journey level status in Automotive Machinists’ Union, OR Four years of work experience as a full-time assistant to a journey level mechanic. A resume and cover letter are required for this position. A valid driver’s license is required. As a condition of employment, the applicant will need to authorize and complete a background check.
