Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering care to patients in the Emergency Room by applying the Nursing Process in alignment with the state Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies and procedures. The nurse demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership skills in planning and providing safe patient care in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Utilize critical thinking and scientific judgment in the assessment and treatment of patients.
• Maintain current clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Delegate patient care tasks according to the education and experience levels of the available staff.
• Offer direction and supervision to assigned personnel in delivering patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Active nursing license in the appropriate state.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is required.
• Charge Nurse experience is preferred.
• Willingness to float to other units as necessary.

Shift Information

This position is for day shifts, specifically 7 AM to 7:30 PM, working three 12-hour shifts per week. A 48-hour guarantee may be considered.

Facility Information

Located in a community with a 38-bed Emergency Department that is certified as a Trauma Level III and Stroke Receiving facility.

Additional Recommendations

Although not required, NIH Stroke Scale certification is recommended for applicants.
