Substitute Custodian

This assignment performs the full range of basic tasks in the cleaning and maintenance of District buildings. Substitute custodians will be placed on an on-call list. When substitute custodians are called, they will be told which building to report to, who to report to, and what time to report.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A. Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. Experience as a school custodian or equivalent custodial service preferred

B. Credentials:

1. Certificate of good health by a licensed physician
2. Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

C. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Willingness to cooperate in a positive and friendly manner with staff, students, and members of the public
2. Proven ability to communicate with members of the leadership team

Essential Functions:

1. Provide students and staff with a safe, clean and attractive environment
2. General cleaning of assigned areas of responsibility
3. Cleaning of other assigned areas
4. Other duties may be assigned
