Security Officer

Main Responsibilities As a Site Security Officer, you will be required to provide a visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports and collaborate with the local authorities. Carry out site duties in line with company policies and procedures Conduct internal and external site patrols including perimeter and fire doors check Prevent any unauthorized access to/within perimeters and buildings; liaise with the technical team daily to report any alarms, CCTV or gate issues on sites Communicate with departmental heads in the event of issues to property and/or assets Respond to all incidents or emergencies onsite Manage site gatehouse duties Oversee site keys and incident report management Ensure safety of people on site by reporting any health and safety breaches found Operational performance Ensure that access/egress duties are actioned in line with company policies Always adhere to company training and processes in the pursuit of duties Provide excellent customer service skills, remaining courteous and professional Undertake refresher and developmental training as required Relevant skills and experience Be computer literate in Microsoft Office and bespoke systems Have excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal Be customer service orientated, demonstrating professionalism and compassion Work under pressure Be a team player and able to work on own initiative General Show flexibility and adapt to new requests outside the core role on request Respond to all customer requests in a timely manner Location: Durham Hours: 40 hours 5 minutes Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday: 23:59 – 08:00 Hourly Rate: £13.45 Officers required: 1 The Person To be an effective Security Officer, you will need to be a confident communicator, providing detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity. You will need to be welcoming and patient with customers, and be able to handle conflict in a professional manner. Required Experience and Qualification You must have a valid SIA licence to apply for this role. Previous experience of working in a retail security role is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
