Job Summary:

Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Nurse located at a healthcare facility specializing in respiratory and ventilator-dependent patient care. This role involves working in a Respiratory Care Unit with a focus on managing complex medical cases, including vent-dependent patients, on a 12-hour day shift schedule. The position requires working every other weekend, with responsibilities spanning multiple units including respiratory step-down and neurotrauma units.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour days, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 10/05/2026
• End Date: 01/02/2027
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; 2 years of experience in respiratory or vent-dependent patient care; prior travel experience preferred; BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred; must have experience with respiratory/vented patients
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IV starts, drips, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound care (vac and dressings), Trach care, suctioning, straight cath, foley care, port access, and central line dressing
• Additional Information: The role involves care for respiratory-focused, vent-dependent patients within a medical environment that includes float duties to chronic care units such as RCU (Respiratory Care Unit), SDU (Specialty Care Unit), and TRU (Trauma and Rehabilitation Unit). Nurses will not manage ventilators as RTs handle vents. Unit-specific procedures include maintaining IVs, administering medications, and wound management. Candidates must present a clean profile for review.
