Senior Firmware Engineer

This is a hybrid on-site role in Alameda, CA; relocation assistance will be provided to nonlocal candidates! Position Summary: We are partnered with an exciting company developing fully implantable Class III medical devices at the forefront of therapeutic and diagnostic medicine. This is a hands‑on senior‑level role for an embedded software engineer who thrives in a highly technical, mission‑driven environment and wants their work to have real clinical impact. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and optimize embedded software across the full product lifecycle Own BLE and RF firmware, power management systems, and ASIC interface development Build data infrastructure to efficiently route data from embedded processors to application software and cloud backend Own the embedded software verification process to medical regulatory standards Collaborate cross‑functionally with mechanical, electrical, systems, and quality teams from concept through clinical readiness Contribute to DevOps activities and continuous improvement of software development processes Requirements B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of C/C++ embedded development, or M.S. with 4+ years Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) for embedded platforms Working knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol stacks and wireless communication Experience with IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and/or ISO 13485 preferred Familiarity with test automation tools (Jenkins or similar) and Python for testing and prototyping a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr BioTalent Ltd
