ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR

We are seeking an Electrical Estimator with three or more years of experience in industrial and manufacturing type projects, particularly in automotive plants, new construction and retooling, to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in analysing project requirements, estimating costs, and ensuring the successful execution of electrical projects within VEC’s operating markets. Your experience in robotics, automotive conveyors, and electrical installations will be instrumental in providing accurate estimates and contributing to the growth and success of our projects. This position can be based out of our Girard office or Spring Hill office. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Three years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in the automotive, manufacturing, industrial or related sectors. Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and installations, with specific expertise in process equipment and conveyor systems. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications. Knowledge of estimating software and tools, such as Accubid, ConEst, or similar applications. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform detailed cost analysis and generate accurate estimates. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in estimating and documentation. Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, and project management principles. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Duties And Responsibilities Project Analysis: Review project specifications, electrical drawings, and technical documentation to understand the scope and requirements of electrical systems for automotive installations, including robotics and conveyors. Cost Estimation: Utilize your knowledge and experience to prepare detailed and accurate estimates for electrical components of automotive, manufacturing and industrial projects, considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for electrical materials and services, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely procurement to support project timelines and budgetary requirements. Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and value engineering in electrical designs and installations, while maintaining quality and performance standards. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate project requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure alignment on cost estimates and project deliverables. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical estimates, bids, change‑orders, and other project‑related documentation in compliance with company policies and procedures. Cost Tracking: Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, track expenditures, compare actual costs to estimated budgets, and identify variances to inform decision‑making and improve future estimates. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance estimating processes and contribute to the company’s competitive edge. #J-18808-Ljbffr VEC, Inc.
