In business since 1995, we have served the US Army, NASA, school systems, nonprofits, and commercial customers with a solid track record of delivering requirements on time, on budget, and with zero defects.Quadrus Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Additive Manufacturing Technician to support metal 3D printing operations at our advanced manufacturing facility in Huntsville, AL. In this hands-on role, you will operate and maintain selective laser melting machines (Concept Laser experience preferred), including machine preparation, preventive maintenance, powder handling/sieving, post-processing (powder and support removal, cleaning), build monitoring, defect identification, metallurgical sample preparation (cutting, grinding, polishing, etching, microscopy), and independent part inspection using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and surface plates. You will troubleshoot mechanical, optical, laser, and electrical issues, execute process improvements to reduce downtime, pull tensile bars, and collaborate with engineers while ensuring safety, cleanliness, and quality standards. Flexibility to work overtime, shifts, and weekends.Desired Skill(s)Experience interpreting engineering drawings3+ years of metal additive manufacturing experienceHands-on experience operating multiple selective lasers melting platformsExperience working with additive manufacturing post processesExperience in a fast-paced, iterative environmentSelf-motivated and able to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environmentFormal education in an engineering or technical disciplineExperience in metallurgical sample preparationExperience handling and keeping track of a large number of physical parts and the measurements taken on themWillingness to work around potentially hazardous materials (respiratory equipment and flame-retardant PPE is required)Technical RequirementsExperience in a manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or testing environmentProficiency with hand, power, and pneumatic tools (drills, chisels, taps, etc.)Proficiency with precision inspection methods and tools (surface plate, calipers, micrometers, height gauge)Experience operating machine tools including metallographic grinders, media blasters, powder sieves, and powder cranes5+ years of technician experience in aerospace, military, automotive racing, marine, energy, oil & gas, or similar high-tech industriesAbility to read and understand operation manualsProficiency with Microsoft Office suiteAbility to safely lift up to 50lbs with strong manual dexterity and skilled operation of machinery and hand/power toolsAbility to climb ladders and remain on your feet for extended periodsWillingness to work overtime, flexible shift schedules, and weekends when requiredExceptional organization and attention-to-detail for tracking parts, measurements, and processesRequired EducationHigh School Diploma or GED plus2-year degree in an aerospace technician, manufacturing technician, or additive manufacturing technician program.Other RequirementsResiding in HubZone is a plusMust be a US Citizen
