About the Role & Team Univision Chicago is seeking a Technical Director with skills in broadcast/media management and technical operations. This position will require work on nights, weekends and holidays. Rate: $39.00/H. Your Day-to-Day Direct all elements of on-air audio and video for a station television program or segment. Blocking, coding, rundown creation and production execution of newscasts, pre-recorded shows, live cut-ins, pre-recorded cut-ins and station IDs. Studio control operation – knowledge of Vizrt Graphics Operation Software. Technical direct live show – knowledge of Sony switcher, Sony ELC and Avid ecosystem. Robo-Cam operation. Lighting operation. Non-linear editing – knowledge of Avid Media Composer and Media Central editing software. Inbound feed management, prep/processing and routing (microwave & satellite) – knowledge of Avid Capture Recording Equipment. Communication with all departments at station, master control operations hub and satellite ops centers. Qualifications Ability to communicate effectively and work well with people while under pressure. Exceptional team player who is reliable with a positive attitude. Displays a positive work ethic and can work under tight deadlines. High degree of integrity and professionalism. Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Process and detail oriented. Strong computer skills. Technical aptitude and always willing to learn. Adaptable to change in technology and environment. Self‑starter that can operate under minimal supervision. Preferably bilingual – English/Spanish. Position is represented by NABET-CWA.
