Position Type: Permanent or Contract Duration: temp/directTechnical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Structural Engineer for our client in the Pittsburgh, PA area.Job Purpose:Provide engineering, design, calculations, analysis, drawing review, and other activities related to civil and structural engineering. Responsibilities will increase with experience. Senior-level position for a degreed engineer working without supervision (possible Department Manager position). Essential Duties:Senior level position for a degreed engineer. Supervisory position responsible for review and P.E. stamping of design documents.Perform assignments independently using professional knowledge and abilities in support of a project team.Maintain a good work ethic, i.e. cooperative, hard-working, focused and aware of his responsibilities and limitations.Work well with other disciplines and experience levels.Skilled with Internet searches, excel spreadsheets, and data mining.Performance of calculations for site development, structural steel members and/or concrete foundations.Develop working knowledge of ASCE Codes and Standards, as well as ASTM and other industry standards. Willingness to take direction and try any assigned task. Prepare specifications and technical reports requiring minimal to no review.Able to support and direct designers.Perform lead engineer functions, communicate with customers, and develop cost estimates and proposals. Job RequirementsEducation/Certification Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringP.E. Certification Required.Experience and Skill Requirements:Minimum of four (15) years of experience in the engineering field. Years of experience does not guarantee promotion to higher level.
