Professional Staff Nurse - Rotating Shift

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and an integral member of the care delivery team. This role is responsible for establishing standards for the level and quality of nursing care, managing patient care activities, and collaborating with healthcare team members to achieve positive patient outcomes. The Professional Staff Nurse demonstrates leadership and fosters collaborative relationships among physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families, ensuring a commitment to the community and the nursing profession.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing duties in alignment with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
• Engage in department-specific quality improvement initiatives and contribute toward enhancing patient satisfaction.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practices to improve clinical care and influence patient care plans.
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to meet the holistic needs of patients.
• Exhibit strong communication skills to articulate patient conditions and collaborate effectively with care team members.
• Teach patients and families about care processes and transitions, fostering an environment of open dialogue and inquiry.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships by demonstrating accountability and cultural competence.
• Participate fully as a partner on the care team, responding to team members' needs for assistance.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary.
• Compliance with PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 protocols.

Schedule

This position operates on a rotating shift schedule of 12 hours across 3 days per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
