Title: Diet Technician - Boston Children’s Franciscan - Food Requisition #: 655465 Location: Brighton, MA, US, 02135 Job Description The Diet Technician provides patient support and serves as a liaison to other departments regarding patient meal services. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position are tailored to meet the needs of Franciscan Children’s Hospital. Compensation Hourly rate: $20.00 to $22.00. Job Responsibilities Function comfortably in a fast‑paced food service environment. Maintain a friendly, efficient, positive demeanor toward patients, co‑workers, and staff in other departments. Adapt to hospital and patient needs. Review patient menus, tally menu items for kitchen preparation, and conduct patient tray line to ensure safety and accuracy of patient meals. Maintain general knowledge of modified textures following IDDSI standards and allergies to ensure meals are prepared and served safely. Work closely with registered dietitians, nurses, and the Food Services team to ensure accurate patient nutrition. Log food temperatures, complete test trays, and perform other regulatory functions required by Aramark food services. Assist kitchen staff as necessary to meet patient needs. Maintain the privacy, safety, and dignity of each patient by observing confidentiality and strictly adhering to safety and sanitation standards. Maintain compliance with Aramark’s standards of operation and Business Conduct Policy, and keep all records and reports to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and codes. Develop new skills and adapt to changing duties without formal notice. Qualifications Previous customer service and/or food service experience preferred. Current enrollment in or graduate of an undergraduate nutrition program or related major required. Communicate fluently in English; bilingual or multilingual a plus. Basic Excel proficiency. Ability to stay calm under pressure. Flexibility and adaptability to change. Availability to work some weekend and holiday shifts. ServSafe certification preferred.
