Position Summary The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing the clinical operations of the skilled nursing facility. This role ensures high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and efficient day-to-day nursing operations. The ADON serves as a clinical leader, mentor, and resource for nursing staff while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence. Key Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (CMS, state survey requirements) Support staffing operations, including scheduling, onboarding, orientation, and performance management Provide clinical oversight and guidance to nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives Assist with infection prevention and control programs Monitor documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance Address resident and family concerns related to nursing care Support survey preparation, survey management, and plan of correction implementation Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive resident care Serve as acting Director of Nursing in the DON’s absence as needed Qualifications Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in TN Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and best practices Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment Preferred Qualifications Prior experience as an ADON, Nurse Manager, or Unit Manager What You’ll Love: Competitive pay Paperless, quick onboarding Comprehensive benefits (health, dental, vision, retirement plan) Paid time off, holiday pay Generous employee referral program Annual performance reviews and competitive bi-annual pay reviews Support for personal well-being (EAP programs, mental health resources) Respectful, supportive leadership and strong focus on teamwork Optimal staff-to-patient ratios to prevent burnout Opportunities for advancement Tuition reimbursement, training programs, and CEU support Strong mentorship and orientation programs Strong school partnerships 360 communications for staff, residents & families We are committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace.
