Internal Medicine Physician

Riverside Internal Medicine in NewportNews, Virginia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Internal Medicine Physician to join our team.

In Your Role

• Provide comprehensive care for adult patients, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Perform comprehensive history and physical assessments.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic labs and tests.
• Develop and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe pharmacological and non‑pharmacological interventions.
• Coordinate specialty referrals and consultations.
• Recognize and respond to emergent situations with life‑saving interventions.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Advocate patients’ rights and diverse needs.
• Participate in clinic meetings and daily safety huddles.
• Engage in continuing medical education and professional development.
• Demonstrate leadership, mentorship, and evidence‑based practice.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
• A current, valid medical license to practice in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain one).
• A valid DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
