Key Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting activities, including job cost tracking, expense allocation, and financial reporting.
• Monitor project budgets, commitments, costs, and profitability to help ensure projects remain financially on track.
• Review subcontractor invoices, vendor bills, purchase orders, and payment applications for accuracy.
• Assist with progress billing, client invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable as needed.
• Reconcile project-related accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Partner with project managers and operations teams to provide financial updates and resolve project accounting issues.
• Maintain accurate project records and supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls.
• Assist with additional accounting and financial projects as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in project accounting, preferably within the construction industry.
• Understanding of construction accounting, job costing, project budgets, and billing processes.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a growing, fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both accounting and operations teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• A proactive mindset and interest in growing with a smaller organization.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary up to $90,000, depending on experience.
