A Brief Overview
In collaboration with an attending physician, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is responsible for the direct care and follow-up of a population of patients that matches his/her delineation of privileges and skill set. The components of the role include clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and research.

About the Position

• Schedule- 4 10 hours day a week
• Location- Will work in PA and NJ clinics (Voorhees/Princeton) - at least 80% of the time on site in Phila (Buerger Building)
• The ideal candidate will have GI/Surgery experience

What you will do

• Utilizes advanced assessment skills to manage a cohort of patients. Performs and documents daily assessments. Collects and analyzes data and formulates a family-centered plan of care.
• Performs any needed advanced procedures that are listed in the Scope of Practice Document and approved as a part of the credentialing process.
• Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness of the prescribed treatment plan. Using the most current evidence, modifies the plan of care based on the effectiveness of the treatment and the patient/family response to the plan.
• Serves as an educational resource to the patient/family, nursing staff, and provider team. Acts as a consultant to multidisciplinary health care team members.
• Participates in scholarly activities including research and education. Participates in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate educational offerings. Participates in the professional development of others. Acts as a preceptor and mentor to support the development of nurses, nurse practitioners, students, and other health care providers.
• Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing practice to enhance safety. Shares errors or potential errors through system reporting mechanisms. Demonstrates shared accountability for safe practice.

Education Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

• Master's Degree Nursing - Required
  

Physician Assistant

• Bachelor's Degree - Physician Assistant. Employees hired and placed in position previous to 09/03/23 are only required to have technical diploma - Required

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work in an inter-professional team setting with multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to use computer and electronic medical records effectively.
• Refer to Scope of Practice Document and Clinical Responsibilities Checklist for specific requirements of role.

Licenses and Certifications

Nurse Practitioner

• Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or
  
• Registered Nurse (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required and
• Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or
• Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required and
• Prescriptive Authority (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - within 3 months - Required or
• Prescriptive Authority (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - within 3 months - Required and
• Specialty Certification - as a Nurse Practitioner in area of education/subspecialty. - upon hire - Required

Physician Assistant

• Licensed Physician Assistant - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire-Required or
• Licensed Physician Assistant - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire Required and
• Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants -upon hire - Required and
• Prescriptive Authority (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board -within 3 months - Required or
• Prescriptive Authority (New Jersey) -New Jersey State Licensing Board - within 3 months - Required and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross) -upon hire - Required and
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross) upon hire Required and
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross).Preferred

SALARY RANGE:

$104,600.00 - $138,600.00 Annually

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.

This job is eligible for an incentive program.
