As a Software Engineer in Test, you will design and build innovative test automation solutions, validate complex trading workflows, and collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure the highest levels of quality and reliability. This is an opportunity to combine cutting-edge technology, automation, and financial innovation to make a direct impact on millions of investors.Role and ResponsibilityDesign and develop automation code for trading applicationFacilitate the documentation and process flow for all testing processes and systems sharing deep knowledge to QA engineers across our portfolio of applicationsLead the conversation to clarify requirements with functional QA TeamTrouble shoot test environmental/test data issues and debug automation codeFind work that needs to be done on our software process to help identify bugs for repair and regression prior to a release to our customersGain in-depth knowledge of how new systems function and generating and analyzing data to validate various components and modules of the application.Detail Oriented and passionate about delivering great quality softwareAble to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlinesPossess a strong aptitude for learning new technologiesDevelop AI tools to expedite software development processAct as the tech lead for the automation team, setting best practices, defining test strategies, and ensuring high-quality coverageCollaborate with product managers, engineers, and other QA engineers to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and automation plansBuild scalable and robust automated test suites to support continuous integration and deploymentProactively identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and improvement in test infrastructure and coverageParticipate in code reviews to ensure testability and quality are integrated into the development processMentor and lead other engineers in automation best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learningEstablish policies and practices for automation excellencePossess a strong aptitude for learning new technologiesChampion a high bar for quality across the company and help shape the quality engineering cultureWhat You HaveTo ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.Required QualificationsB.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experienceExperience working in Agile development environmentsProven experience in software quality assurance testing, bringing expertise in Quality processes, tools and metricsKnowledge of test automation frameworks, automation framework architecture, design, development and scripting languagesExperience in testing APIs/Web Services. Hands-on experience in Java, Python or other Object-Oriented Programming LanguagesExperience with Unix/Linux, WindowsExperience with SQLExperience with AI tools for software developmentHunger to learn and explore new technologies to optimize the existing processSelf-motivated, independent and proactiveOutstanding collaboration and interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationCurrent working experience with Schwab systems and processesPreferred QualificationsStrong understanding of software build tools, CI/CD integrations, deployment process and code quality checking toolsWorking knowledge of source control softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detailsWillingness to learn new technologies and implement in short amount of timeAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExperience with software development with AI toolsIn addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
