Pharmacy Cashier

Lake Martin Retail Pharmacy is seeking a full time Cashier/Pharmacy Technician Job Summary: Assists the pharmacist with selected activities including: printing labels, prescription packaging, handling of purchase records, inventory control, routine clerical tasks, and computer operations. Employee will master the handling of the pharmacy register. Education, Experience and Skills Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Pharmacy technician license from the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy required. Must obtain the minimum amount of continuing education hours mandated to maintain licensure. Knowledge of basic math skills is required. Experience in pharmacy is a plus. Experience in the clerical field is a plus. Experience working with the public is a plus. Physical Demands: Requires standing, bending, stooping, stretching, and walking 70% of the time. Lifting and carrying pharmacy supplies weighing up to 30 pounds. Visual and hearing acuity. Working Conditions: Inside, protected from the weather conditions. Average noise levels. Essential Functions or Duties: Have a thorough working knowledge of the Pharmacy Department. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, physicians and the public. Maintains tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, other employees and the public. Preserves the confidential nature of items of which she/he has knowledge. Turns in all patient drug and IV charges to the billing office for proper billing. Prepares MAR's daily. Prices all merchandise received by pharmacy. Prints medication labels and enters physician orders in the computer (under supervision of the pharmacist). Inspects inventory for outdated medications monthly. Orders and supplies medications as they become low. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy. Stocks drug shelves rotating stock. Compiles and turns in purchase orders. Assists in inventories as needed. Replaces unused or returned medication to stock and gives credit if applicable. Cleans various areas of the department as needed. Handles cash register daily, telephone calls and messages as needed for the pharmacy department. #J-18808-Ljbffr
