About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mids (combination of shifts: 10am-10pm, 12pm-12am, 3pm-3am) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN ADN Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC Must-Have: Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, Sepsis, Moderate Sedation Description: Join a level III trauma center providing healthcare services. The facility includes state-of-the-art operating suites and offers medical, surgical, and rehabilitation services. There is also a childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology unit, pediatric unit, inpatient behavioral health unit, and extensive imaging and lab testing services. The emergency department has a bed capacity of 48 with flex space. Patient ratios are 4:1 in the main area and 6:1 in the fast track. The emergency department uses advanced equipment including a defibrillator, blood transfuser, and ultrasound-guided IV. The electronic health record system in use is Cerner. The emergency department covers a diverse patient population including those with conditions such as ESRD, Cirrhosis, COPD, and psychological disorders. The role will involve team nursing and a pod system with a social worker and an educator assigned to the department. Weekend requirements include a minimum of two weekends scheduled. No float requirements are necessary for this position. Preferred experience includes two years in an emergency department setting with common diagnoses and treatments like substance abuse disorders, COPD, chest pain, and abdominal pain.
