Job Description

Perform FCAW welding using 1/16 wire on structural steel and plate assemblies. Complete multi-pass fillet welds on thick materials to specification. Execute back gouging and air carbon arc gouging to ensure full penetration welds. Work off blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings for complex assemblies. Assist with the fabrication of large storage tanks, vessels, structural frames, and modular steel systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform FCAW welding on structural steel and plate assemblies.
• Complete multi-pass fillet welds to specification.
• Execute back gouging and air carbon arc gouging for full penetration welds.
• Work off blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Assist with fabrication of large storage tanks, vessels, structural frames, and modular steel systems.

• Strong experience with FCAW welding (1/16 wire).
• Ability to pass a fillet weld test - xray and bend test.
• Experience with back gouge and air arc required.
• Structural steel welding experience required.

• Experience with tanks, bridges, pressure vessels, and vessels.
• D1.1 and D1.5 certifications are beneficial.
• Erecting experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work extended hours and overtime as needed.

Enjoy consistent overtime with opportunities for 8–12+ extra hours per week and a shift differential of $4 for the night crew. Secure long-term, stable work on large-scale fabrication projects, and have the opportunity to work on high-profile industrial and infrastructure builds.

Work Environment

Work in an outdoor steel bay/shop environment, which can be dusty and dirty, with the use of fans to maintain airflow.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gibsonton, FL.

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Gibsonton,FL.
