About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: ACLS and BLS required MS/Tele experience required Description: Evening/Night, 12-hour shift, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Experience in telemetry is required. Work on a 15-bed progressive care unit with both general care and intermediate-level patients. Interventions may include chest tubes, feeding tubes, PCAs, insulin drips, vasoactive drips, and multiple drains. Patient populations will include vascular surgical and cardiac surgical step-down patients. Participate in shared governance, with a unit-based council to support quality improvement initiatives. Work in a patient- and family-focused environment with daily care team visits. Utilize evidence-based practice and become part of a supportive team. Daily census is approximately 15 patients. Adult and geriatric patient age groups will be cared for. Patient diagnoses may include amputations, cardiac surgery stepdown patients, and various vascular conditions. Pass a telemetry test prior to starting. Traveler will have two attempts to pass the telemetry exam. Pass/fail testing required with strict passing criteria. Passing score of 80% or higher is required for both adult and pediatric exams. If the traveler fails, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course will be required before a third attempt. Failure to pass after three attempts will result in cancellation of the assignment. Floating to other units may be required as needed.
