Responsibilities

• Greet patients with professionalism and compassion, creating a welcoming environment.
• Assist with patient check-in, utilizing self-service kiosks or handheld tablets as needed.
• Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures following established practices and protocols.
• Maintain the integrity of the waiting area, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
• Provide support to staff by helping with breaks and covering staffing shortages in the lobby or draw room.
• Accurately document patient information and maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate high levels of customer service and sensitivity to patient needs and confidentiality.
• Ensure all safety and infection control procedures are followed to maintain a safe environment.

Required Skills

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patients with care and compassion.
• Strong communication skills to explain procedures and calm patient concerns.
• Proficiency in data entry and keyboarding to accurately record patient information.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and specimen processing accurately and confidently.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience, such as retail or healthcare roles.
• Phlebotomy experience is required, including internships or externships.
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite; candidates should ensure their commute time is within 20-25 minutes.
• Availability to work scheduled shifts, arrive on time, and stay for the entire shift; excessive tardiness or absenteeism may lead to termination.
• Schedule flexibility to cover breaks and staffing needs as required.
