How you'll make an impact in this role This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated physician to join an employed part time position within a busy, well-respected emergency department, supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network. Join an established team of 7 physicians and 3 APPs Call structure: Backup Rotation Practice setting: Emergency Department Access to support staff, 24/7 emergency care, accredited geriatric emergency care, admission (when needed) to Wamego Health Center, on-site full-service digital imaging, on-site lab, private treatment rooms Employed position within a nonprofit health system Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration Provide timely, high-quality emergency medical care to patients of all ages Evaluate, diagnose and manage acute illness and injuries Stabilize patients and coordinate transfers where higher levels of care are required Perform emergency procedures as clinically indicated Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation About the Facility 5-bed hospital Emergency Department Serving a population of approximately 55,000 Integrated referral network Part of Ascension, a national nonprofit Catholic health system Why Physicians Choose Ascension Physician-led, collaborative culture Long-term practice stability National network with local autonomy Mission-centered care rooted in service What Minimum Requirements You'll Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
