Mainframe Developer - Remote

Mainframe Professional
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe professional with strong experience in application analysis, development, maintenance, and legacy modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in COBOL based applications and a solid understanding of enterprise mainframe environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform code screening, analysis, and scraping of existing mainframe applications to identify dependencies, inefficiencies, risks, and optimization opportunities.
- Analyze legacy applications and contribute to modernization, transformation, and migration strategies.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-DB2-CICS based applications.
- Develop, enhance, and manage JCL jobs, including batch processing and workflow scheduling.
- Work with Control-M, and enterprise scheduling tools for job automation, monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support integrations with distributed systems, APIs, and downstream applications.
- Perform impact analysis and support application enhancements, defect fixes, and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, performance best practices, and security guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, code changes, process flows, and operational procedures.
- Support QA, UAT, deployment, and post-production validation activities.
