A few responsibilities of our Nuclear Medicine Tech include:

• Position and prepare patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed
• Perform procedures and assess patients throughout and respond to the patient's needs as appropriate
• Complete appropriate documentation for each study performed
• Participate in quality control and assessment activities on a daily basis
• Handle radiopharmaceuticals to include storage, dosage preparation/calculation, administration, and disposal
• Perform quality control, equipment calibration, and equipment maintenance
• Participate in the improvement of operational functions of the department
• Monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care and practices; identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration

The required job qualifications include:

• Current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy
• Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology
• One year of experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred
