Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026. Position Details Permanent, full‑time (80 hours per fortnight with ADO) Health Information Manager Grade 1–2 dependent on experience. Located at Caulfield and Sandringham Hospital. The role offers great staff benefits. The Department Health Information Services (HIS) provides invaluable operational support that contributes to the efficient functioning of Alfred Health services. The team plays a fundamental role in delivering health information to the Alfred Health community and supports the delivery of quality health information across the three campuses at Alfred Health. SIS is responsible for many services, including: Management of medical records Clinical coding support Governance of patient medical record numbers Patient administration system (iPM) Scanning and importing of all internal and external clinical documentation Statutory reporting of all inpatient episodes (VAED) Dictation and transcription services Enquiries, including the main reception at the Alfred Hospital, Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre and Caulfield Hospital Switchboard services at The Alfred and Caulfield Hospitals Release of information to external health services Management and coordination of subpoena and warrant compliance Alfred Health Archives The Role The Health Information Manager will be responsible for the following: Health information services operations Mobility data collection Reporting Quality improvement Qualifications and Experience Required Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent Current knowledge in ICD‑10‑AM, ACS, VAED reporting, National Funding Model Eligible for full membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia Desirable Skills Experience in a clinical coding role, ideally with exposure to a diverse casemix Knowledge or experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) and Cerner applications Knowledge or experience using iPM (patient administration system) Staff Benefits Salary packaging and novated leasing through Maxxia Onsite car and bike parking opportunities, deducted pre‑tax Fantastic onsite fitness facilities at The Alfred through ProSport health and fitness Childcare services at The Alfred managed by KU Children’s Services Please specify in your cover letter whether you are interested in applying for the part‑time or full‑time role.
