Overview Job Summary and Responsibilities: As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that positively impacts patients' well-being and recovery. You will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, make critical assessments, perform skilled procedures, and meticulously implement patient care plans. You will collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes. Successful candidates will have keen assessment skills, strong critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset, with a dedication to excellence in a fast-paced environment. Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data in accordance with the plan of care and standards, and notifies physicians as appropriate. Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including planning routine transitional health care needs (e.g., treatment options, patient placement). Adapts educational content to the patient and family by modifying teaching strategies; integrates education during patient care. Communicates the patient’s plan of care and significant changes to all members of the interdisciplinary team (SBAR) and to the patient and family. Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge from education and experience. Advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflicts, seeking resolution as needed. Minimum Qualifications 1 year recent open heart OR critical care experience. May consider training with one year of telemetry or step-down experience if operational conditions exist. Completion of basic critical care and dysrhythmia classes for training positions. Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills. Current California Registered Nurse license. Current BLS and ACLS required (certified through the American Heart Association). PALS must be obtained within 12 months of hire into the position. Preferred Qualifications 12-lead EKG and shock class completion preferred.
