Overview

The Logistics Specialist will assist with the coordination on inbound and outbound freight within the manufacturing facility to ensure that materials, components, and finished products are efficiently transported, stored, and distributed to meet production schedules and customer demands.

Responsibilities

1. Implement logistics strategies that align with production goals and customer requirements.
2. Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely acquisition of raw materials necessary for manufacturing.
3. Maintain relationships with suppliers and transportation providers to optimize costs and service levels.
4. Coordinate the transportation of materials from suppliers to the manufacturing facility as well as the distribution of finished products to customers.
5. Evaluate transportation options (e.g., freight carriers) for cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality service standards.
6. Monitor shipping schedules and resolve any issues related to delays or damages during transit.
7. Analyze logistics processes for efficiency improvements; recommend changes that enhance productivity while reducing costs.
8. Foster a culture of safety within the logistics team by adhering to industry regulations and best practices.
9. Ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations regarding transportation, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
10. Prepare reports on logistics performance metrics for senior management review; identify trends or areas needing attention.
11. Complete any other tasks as assigned by management.

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year university in Supply chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• Fluency in English. Bi-lingual in Chinese (Mandarin) language highly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, including inventory management systems (e.g. ERP software)

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Problem solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement methods.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficient in using logistics software applications to track shipments and manage inventory.

Work Environment

The work environment for the position includes enclosed offices and workshop production floor.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of the position include sitting at an office desk, using a computer and keyboard, walking, standing, and reaching on a regular basis; ability to speak and hear; ability to visually detect product color and shading variation; entering text or data via keyboard into a computer; seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands; ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or sounds.
