Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our team in the Main Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This critical role involves providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic surgical environment.

Unit Information

• Location: Main PACU, second floor
• City/State: Not specified
• Number of Beds: 14
• Number of Staff: 16
• Day Shift Staffing: 1 charge nurse and 6 staff nurses
• Night Shift Staffing: 2 overnight staff nurses
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
• Electronic Medical Record System: Meditech

Candidate Profile

• Required Skills:
  
  
  • Positive attitude and a strong willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Preferred Skills: Additional relevant certifications will be prioritized during the hiring process.

Typical Procedures Performed

The unit is involved in various surgical procedures, including:

• Endoscopy procedures
• Hernia repairs
• Myomectomy
• Hysterectomy
• Nephrectomy
• Joint repair/replacements
• Lumbar fusions
• Trauma care

Work Requirements

• Floating Requirements: Willingness to float to pre-operative areas as needed.
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
• On-Call Duties: On-call once per night every two weeks.
• Shifts Available: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 9:00 PM - 9:00 AM, or 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
