(USA) Emerging Store Manager - Nhm

Responsibilities Trains and develops associates across multiple areas of store operations including merchandising, people leadership, financial management, customer experience, and community engagement to prepare for a Store Manager role. Assists in managing the store's financial performance by authorizing and managing expenditures against the budget, monitoring sales and profit goals, analyzing economic trends and community needs for budget forecasting, and generating, reviewing, and acting on business reports and profit‑loss statements. Supports sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, and maintaining appropriate in‑stock and inventory levels. Models, enforces, and provides direction and guidance to hourly associates and managers on proper customer service approaches and techniques, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved within company guidelines and standards. Analyzes and assists with projected staffing plans, supports their implementation, and contributes to talent pipelines and succession planning processes. Initiates, directs, and participates in community outreach programs, encourages and supports associates and managers in serving as good members of the community, establishes and maintains relationships with key individuals or groups, promotes company‑sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts. Upholds the Open Door Policy by meeting with associates, listening to concerns, researching issues, reviewing company policies, and providing resolutions according to company policies and procedures. Assists in leading and directing the store's management team by supporting the establishment and implementation of store objectives, communicating goals, monitoring performance and providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Analyzes and interprets reports, implements and monitors asset protection and safety controls, maintains quality assurance standards, oversees safety and operational reviews, develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies. Supports the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing obstacles that impact performance, measuring progress and adjusting accordingly, and demonstrating adaptability and continuous learning. Effectively facilitates strong partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders across the organization including Market Managers, Regional leadership, Merchandising, Human Resources, and Asset Protection. Develops, implements, and sustains key organizational objectives, and maintains compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and integrity standards. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training, mentoring, assigning duties, building a team‑based work environment, establishing performance expectations, conducting evaluations, providing recognition and rewards, coaching for success and improvement, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace. Encourages a culture of inclusion and belonging by respecting differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences, building high‑performing teams, and communicating with impact, energy, and positivity. Ensures business needs are met by evaluating the effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives, consulting with business partners and stakeholders, soliciting and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness, and participating in community outreach events. Acts with integrity and promotes the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and a regenerative company vision, holding oneself and others accountable, and supporting Walmart's culture of belonging. Qualifications Option1: Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, retail management, or financial management and 2years’ experience in a management role within a retail, operations, or distribution environment, with responsibility for supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors, managing workloads, and participating in hiring and promotion. Option2: 4years’ experience in a management role within a retail, operations, or distribution environment, with responsibility for supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors, managing workloads, and participating in hiring and promotion, plus 2years’ general management experience, including responsibility for financial accountability. For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training. For facilities that sell only ammunition with state‑specific requirements: successful completion of a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live BetterU and Bellevue University. General management experience including financial accountability. Experience running a fresh or dry grocery area. Supervising 50 or more associates/employees, including performance management, mentoring, and making employment decisions (e.g., hiring, disciplinary).
