Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Alexandria, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Alexandria, Virginia. This position involves providing care in a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department that handles a broad range of adult and pediatric patients. The ER features mixed care zones, routine vasopressors, insulin, and sedation management, with the capacity to treat varied diagnoses such as STEMI, stroke, sepsis, sprains, sutures, and more. The shift rotates among various schedules, including 11a-11p and 1p-1a shifts, with a typical weekly minimum of 36 hours. Job Details Schedule: Rotating shifts with 12-hour shifts, covering 11a-11p and 1p-1a; minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); minimum of 0 years of experience. Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification; 2 years of ER experience; experience in both adult and pediatric emergency care. Float: None, first to float. Additional Information: The ER staff is scheduled for six weekend shifts every six weeks. No on-call or holiday expectations. Epic access is required, with immediate access needed.
