Factory Manager

Operations DirectorOversees and directs the operations of a business or production activity, commonly referred to as a factory, for Federal Prison Industries (trade name UNICOR), at a Federal Bureau of Prisons correctional facility. Responsible for the direct supervision of civilian staff members and indirect supervision of the inmate workers in the factory. Responsible for the receipt, technical review and acceptance of assigned contracts and for their integration into existing production schedules, training programs, facility usage and for proper manpower utilization. Maintains close liaison with the UNICOR management staff at the facility and program management staff at the UNICOR corporate office to ensure a smooth and efficient factory operation. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staffs' correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
