Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Intern supports the department by performing task-oriented duties while providing administrative and operational support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs entry-level accounting duties such as journal entries, expense report auditing, travel authorizations, and coordinating correspondence
2. May input, update, and maintain data in organizational databases ensuring the accuracy and integrity of information
3. Provides accounting support during month-end and year-end close processes
4. Assists with the planning, execution, and completion of projects, which may include researching discrepancies, compiling financial data, and preparing reports
5. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Familiarity with office software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in performing tasks
• Ability to work well in a team, contributing positively to team dynamics and outcomes
• Ability to exhibit professionalism in conduct, punctuality, and adherence to workplace expectations and policies

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

• Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
• Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
• Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age

Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $16.33.
