Director of Information Technology

Description

Winholt is seeking a hands-on IT Director to lead technology strategy and day-to-day IT operations for a multi-site manufacturing organization of approximately 270 employees. This role oversees Epicor ERP, infrastructure, cybersecurity, business systems, vendors, and end-user support while leading a lean internal IT team. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with practical execution and partner closely with business leaders to improve efficiency, reliability, security, and data visibility.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an IT roadmap aligned with business and operational priorities.
• Lead, optimize, and support the Epicor ERP environment, including upgrades, integrations, reporting, training, and process improvements.
• Oversee networks, servers, cloud services, telecommunications, hardware, software, and end-user technology across company locations.
• Strengthen cybersecurity, access controls, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.
• Manage day-to-day IT support, service priorities, system reliability, licensing, technology assets, and vendor relationships.
• Partner with manufacturing, distribution, finance, and corporate teams to identify automation and business-system improvements.
• Prepare and manage the IT operating and capital budgets and evaluate technology investments.
• Lead technology projects from planning through implementation, including timelines, budgets, risks, testing, and stakeholder communication.
• Coach and develop 1-2 direct reports and coordinate outside consultants or managed service providers as needed.
• Evaluate practical uses of AI, analytics, and emerging technology to improve productivity and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, or another operational environment.
• Strong ERP experience; Epicor experience is required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, network administration, cloud services, cybersecurity, backup and recovery, and vendor management.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional technology projects and managing budgets.
• Strong business judgment, communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on when business needs require it.

Preferred Experience

• Multi-site IT support and manufacturing systems integration.
• Business intelligence, reporting, EDI, automation, or data analytics.
• Meraki, RingCentral, Autodesk, mobile-device support, and Microsoft Teams.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, CISSP, Microsoft, CompTIA, or Epicor.

Compensation Information

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $140,000 - $150,000 annually. This range represents the Company's good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and internal equity considerations. In addition to base compensation, Winholt offers a comprehensive benefits package and may provide bonus or incentive opportunities where applicable.
