Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Senior Controller for a large, integrated real estate and mortgage services organization. This executive-level accounting role will lead enterprise accounting, payroll, and accounts payable while overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, audit coordination, internal controls, mortgage servicing accounting, and process improvement.

The Senior Controller will work across a complex financial services environment and requires deep experience in mortgage servicing finance, strong people leadership, and extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, investor reporting, mortgage servicing rights valuation, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Controller is responsible for leading accounting, payroll, and accounts payable across the enterprise and ensuring timely month-end close and accurate financial reporting. This role serves as the primary liaison with external financial audit firms and helps drive process optimization, risk management, and strong financial controls across the organization.

The position also partners with third-party valuation firms on mortgage servicing rights, supports budgeting and forecasting, manages cash flow and balance sheet activities, and documents management's accounting positions on current and emerging U.S. GAAP matters affecting the organization.

ROLE
• Lead enterprise accounting, payroll, and accounts payable functions.
• Ensure timely month-end close processes and accurate financial reporting.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external financial audit firms.
• Identify and implement accounting process optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with third-party valuation firms to assess mortgage servicing rights.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Oversee cash flow management.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure intercompany accounts are balanced and bank accounts are reconciled.
• Establish and maintain appropriate controls designed to deter fraud.
• Manage internal reporting and disbursement reviews.
• Oversee payroll and debt reporting.
• Monitor lender covenant compliance.
• Coordinate multiple audits.
• Document management's position on current and emerging accounting treatments under U.S. GAAP.
• Enhance key accounting processes and controls.
• Update and document accounting policies and procedures.
• Serve as the finance executive liaison with auditors and regulators.
• Develop and support the growth of the accounting team through guidance, coaching, and documented procedures.
• Review contracts to determine asset ownership and appropriate financial recognition.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or Related Field REQUIRED
• CPA Or Equivalent Professional Certification REQUIRED
• 15+ Years Of Progressive Accounting Experience REQUIRED
• 10+ Years Of Experience In A Senior Accounting Role Within Mortgage Servicing For Financial Services Segments, Including Controller-Level Experience REQUIRED
• Mortgage Servicing Experience REQUIRED
• Previous Experience Managing People And Leading Teams REQUIRED
• Strong Knowledge Of U.S. GAAP REQUIRED
• Knowledge Of Investor Reporting Requirements Including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, And Ginnie Mae REQUIRED
• Mortgage Servicing Rights Valuation Experience REQUIRED
• Experience With Financial Audits, Internal Controls, And Regulatory Compliance REQUIRED
• Deep Understanding Of Enterprise Accounting Systems, Cash Flow Operations, Cost Structures, And Financial Resource Planning REQUIRED
• Experience With Mortgage Servicing Platforms And ERP Systems Such As SAP, Oracle, Or Similar REQUIRED
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, And Outlook Skills REQUIRED
• Strong Financial Reporting, Analytical, Communication, And Executive Presentation Skills REQUIRED
• Ability To Work In A Hybrid Capacity From Tampa, FL; Dallas, TX; Or Rosemont, IL REQUIRED
